So sad! After many enjoyable meals for so many years Maya's has CLOSED. A sign in the window says new owners will be opening soon. Hopefully their food will be as good, and hopefully they'll have all day breakfast.

Great food at reasonable price. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Many traditional diner type options too.

So I'd actually give this spot a 3.5 but the flavor was worth the 4 stars. This nice little restaurant was very welcoming with a decent sized menu which includes some American options as well. Our server was very attentive and got us drink right away whil we decided what to try. We were also given some completely chips and salsa which is a nice touch. Tasty fresh chips and a mild but slightly spicy salsa. I ordered a horchata and I thought the flavor was really good and not too overpowering... but I noticed a blue speck floating in my drink. Not sure what that was about but I decided not to have anymore of it, which was a shame because I was enjoying it. For my entree I decided to get the chicken enchilada in green sauce. This was excellent all around! Great flavors and every bit of it was perfectly prepared. I cleaned my plate! My friend had a 3 taco dinner with 1 shrimp, 1 steak, and 1 veggie. Again, great flavors here. All the taco fillings were on point, tasty, seasoned, and cooked just right. However there was some issues with the tortillas. They were corn, but I'd say they weren't done completely. They were soft and floppy with no texture, and they simply fell apart forcing us to eat them with a fork. Im assuming this was a mistake and not how they would normally come out of the kitchen, but next time we might order them with flour tortillas instead. I wanted to try some tamales but they only serve them on the weekends it seems. I'm a big tamale fan so I'll have to come back for those. The breakfast menu also looked appealing. I really liked this spot, without those few issues I had I'd consider a it worth a 5 star review.

Tonight my husband, my friend, I ordered take out from here. It was the best Mexican food we have had in a long time! You can tell the food was made not only with care, but with love for the cuisine. The service was fantastic and we have no complaints. We didn't get a good look on the inside, but from what we can tell it has a nice ambience. Pro-tip: they do not have paper menus and do not have a website so take a look at the pictures on Yelp/Google with what to order; they have it all.
